Leeds
Leeds is a large industrial and commercial centre, one of the most important cities in northern England. Conveniently placed for visiting the wild Pennine moors of Bronte Country to the west, the more pastural scenery of the Yorkshire Dales to the north and north west, and the historic city of York and the North York Moors to the north east, Leeds makes a good central city base for touring the sights and attractions of Yorkshire and other parts of the north of England. It is also well known for shopping, with many retailers and independent shops located in the city centre and the city's famous shopping arcades.
The city is home to several alleyway pubs, the City Varieties Theatre (the entrance of which is also located down an alleyway), the Royal Armouries museum, Kirkstall Abbey, Leeds University, Roundhay Park, the Headingley cricket ground (home of the Yorkshire County Cricket Club) and of course Leeds United at Elland Road.
Districts in and around the city include Headingley, Meanwood, Chapeltown, Stanningley, Pudsey, Calverley, Apperley Bridge and Guiseley.
Bronte Country is designed, maintained and promoted by Eagle Intermedia Publishing Ltd.
