Nicknamed the "Wastefield" by the citizens of Bradford, a demolition site in the heart of the city centre remained an eyesore for several years following its original clearance in 2005.

Part of the site was temporarily turned in to an "urban garden", before work finally appeared to commence on a stalled shopping development in 2014. The project was completed in 2015, and is now the Broadway shopping complex.
