Elizabeth Gaskell's House
The English novelist Elizabeth Gaskell lived at a house on Plymouth Grove in the suburbs of Manchester. The novelist was author of works such as "North and South" and "Cranford", and she also wrote Charlotte Bronte's biography, "The Life of Charlotte Bronte". Charlotte stayed at the house as a friend of Elizabeth's, and the house was also visited by Charles Dickens and John Ruskin.
Today the house is a museum, open to the public on various days of the week.
