The Leeds Liverpool Canal in Saltaire
An important part of the transport infrastructure of Saltaire was the Leeds Liverpool Canal, which (along with the adjacent railway) allowed for efficient transfer of goods with the outside world.
Today the canal is an attractive feature of the village, with boat trips and pleasants wals along the towpath being available. Along with the adjacent River Aire this stretch of the canal also pays host to the Aire Sculpture Trail.
